North East Components is the UK partner of Northfield Metal Products, a member of the Leggett & Platt Work Furniture Division, is a leading manufacturer of office furniture components. Located in Waterloo Ontario, Canada, we have been proudly servicing the office chair industry for over 40 years.
Although our foundation was built on the design and manufacturing of office furniture components, our expertise expands far beyond the office furniture industry. With our 320,000 square foot facility and years of business experience, Northfield is now recognized around the globe as a custom metal component manufacturer and custom plastic injection component molder.
With representation placed strategically in North America, United Kingdom, Europe and Asia, Northfield is well represented in the world market.

Plastic Injection Molding
36 injection molding machines ranging from 55 to 730 ton capacity (2 to 130 ounce shot size). A variety of engineered resins are utilized on our product as well custom injection molded parts from the automotive, agricultural, electrical, medical, and household sectors.
Manual Production Assembly
Sub and full manual assembly capability from low to high volumes.
Electrostatic Powder Coat Lines
2 electrostatic powder coat paint lines capable of painting a variety of colours.

Reverse Engineering
In-house Faro Laser Arm Scanner utilizing Geo Magic software. The unit is portable allowing us to scan dies and molds in the shop in order to recreate tooling. As well, it allows us to scan existing product to recreate surface data and move it into Solidworks for part editing.
3D Printers
In-house rapid prototyping capabilities in an ABS resin for part design and approval purposes.
R&D
R&D Technicians with strong product and market knowledge are able to assist customers in the design and development of new products as well as provide aid in resolving product related issues.
Test Lab
Our in-house test lab has a vast array of testing equipment capable of testing to the latest BIFMA standards, as well as European standards.
Tool Room
Tool / mold makers operate within a modern tool shop with design / build capabilities. Our machinery ranges from conventional mills, lathes, and surface preparation equipment to the latest in CNC mills (Mastercam 10), plunge EDM and Wire EDM’s.
